Venezuelans protest against arrest compatriot
WILLEMSTAD - A large group of Venezuelans protested this week in front of the police office in downtown Punda. Previously to the demonstration, one of their compatriots was taken by the police while working at the floating market in Punda.
The arrest followed an inspection of the floating market. Following consultation with the police in front of the police station in Punda, the man was released. The protest of the Venezuelans comes a week after the authorities started searching for suspects in the shooting of two police officers. According to the police three Venezuelans are suspects in this case. Two have already been arrested.
