Wiels: Independence in 10 years
WILLEMSTAD – Curacao must become independent in about ten years, according to Pueblo Soberano leader Helmin Wiels. This was reported by the Algemeen Dagblad.
First, however, the economy and the labor force must improved. According to Wiels, the country needs professionals, which can be trained through free education. According to the leader of the largest party after the provisional results, Curaçao has clearly opted against interference of the Netherlands. It is highly likely that the parties MAN, MFK and PS will form a coalition. When asked who the prime minister will be, Wiels did not respond. High on the agenda is the 80/20 legislation, which in the previous government did not go through. "I'm here to make sure that the legislation is coming," said Wiels.
