You Got In! is accepting applications to help students applying to schools in the US
WILLEMSTAD - You Got In! was established in 2014 as a non-profit organization to facilitate an easier college application process for students in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. Founded by Keisha and Shaina Wiel, the vision was to provide assistance with applying to universities in the United States and Canada by ensuring an easy transition from life on the island to college life. In 2016, Bryan Herdé became an integral member of the team where he helped to refocus our aims and goals to directly bring emphasis on the students’ needs and to utilize those needs when applying to universities in the Unites States and Canada. With the recent addition of Natasha Faustin as a financial consultant, the team at You Got In! is becoming a fully rounded organization made up of Dutch Caribbean and first generation alumni that have the students’ best interests at heart.
Our main focus is to help students target schools that best suit their particular academic and professional interests and help them apply to these educational institutions. Throughout the application process we match students with mentors that have already completed their degrees or are in the process of completing their degrees in areas that are exactly or similar to their own interests. This is to guarantee that students get first hand knowledge of what applying to universities entail and what college life is like from a person that has already matriculated through the process. We also help the students with exams such as the SATs/TOEFLs as well as looking to see how prepared the students are for applying to colleges by targeting what they need to do in order to be ready. Through this program, students will also be part of a larger network of current students and alumni that help facilitate connections that will last a lifetime.
Currently, we are open to applications for our program, which can be found on our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/yougotinfoundation). Please take a moment to look over the application and email it to the address given on the application. The deadline to apply is February 3rd, 2017. For general questions, more information, or if you are interested in helping please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
