Agreement between the Government and Unions

Oil refineryWILLEMSTAD - The government and the unions PWFC and APRI reached an agreement concerning the representative for the employees who will be involved in the future of oil refinery.  Both parties discussed that expertise and job opportunities should be added to the group. The unions indicated earlier that they propose Errol Cova as their representative. The Government has also agreed on the unions’ proposal.

One of the decisions made during the meeting was that the Government will set a time limit for the Venezuelan State Oil Company PDVSA. They have to indicate before November 30 what the future of the oil refinery will be so that on December 31 (at the latest) there is more clarity on the position of the Venezuelan authorities and the PDVSA management.

The agreement was signed by Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs Ivar Asjes , Minister Etienne van der Horst of Government Service, Minister Earl Balborda Minister of Urban Planning , PWFC Chairman Angelo Meyer and APRI President Cornelio Bouis .
