Appointment Camelia-Römer upcoming
WILLEMSTAD – Leader of the coalition party PNP, Humphrey Davelaar expects that Suzy Camelia-Römer will be appointed soon as the new Minister of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP).
Camelia-Römer is currently undergoing an extensive screening, but claims to have understood that this process me already be completed next week.
According to Davelaar, the Prime Minister Ivar Asjes told him he had already received that all relevant documents relating to the screening of Camelia-Römer. The candidate minister must now undergo a health test. The expectation is that this will happen in the coming days. This means that Camelia-Römer might take the oath at the Governor's palace next week.
PNP leader claims to have a good feeling about the appointment of Camelia-Römer. “I expect an adult minister, who will be able to implement the priorities set down in the coalition agreement and will act in accordance with the Christian Democratic philosophy of our party.”
The candidate minister is no stranger to politics in Willemstad. She was in the past Prime Minister, Minister of Justice and National Recovery and Economic Affairs of the Netherlands Antilles. Furthermore, Camelia-Römer was also active as a member of the Island Council of Curacao and the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles.
