Aqualectra employees are fed up and give ultimatum

AqualectraWILLEMSTAD – The employees of the utility company, Aqualectra are giving the company one week to comply with their demands. If this does not happen, then they will strike, the unions representing the employees said. Yesterday, the unions met with the employees of the utility company to discuss the current situation.

The 400 employees have five motions on the table where they make their demands. These motions were to the board today. What exactly those motions entail was not disclosed, but as already mentioned, the management has 7 days to react. If the management team does not react, or if they don’t react favorably, then the employees will take action.

Errol Bishop of the SEU union indicated that the employees don’t believe that they have to become victims of mismanagement. “We will not accept this. It’s not the employees’ fault that there was mismanagement on the management and the board of supervisors’ part.

The unions are at odds with Aqualectra, because it has unilaterally decided to downsize and take other measures to resolve the financial problems of the company.
