Breaking news: Cabinet Hodge will resign today

Transitional GovernmentWILLEMSTAD – During the weekly council of Ministers’ meeting which is still in process, Prime Minister Daniel Hodge has decided to turn in the resignation of his Cabinet to the Governor of Curacao. According to reports from an urgent meeting last night, the Premier will resign today at around 4 o’clock. There will be a press conference at 3:30 pm in which all political leaders will be present.

According to reports, the Government will resign because of the issues around the new hospital of Curacao. The coalition leaders are in favor of building the hospital in Otrabanda but there are some Ministers that are not in favor of that decision. These Ministers are of the opinion that the hospital should be built on the former Amstel site.

Prime Minister Daniel Hodge declared recently that there is no contention between the Government of professionals and the members of the coalition. He also declared that his Government was appointed for a period of three to six months and that it is time for the politicians to appoint an “informateur” to start the process of forming a political cabinet.
