Chinese delegation to counsel government on security

CameraWILLEMSTAD – According to the Ministry of Justice, a Chinese delegation will visit Curaçao to help them further develop plans for camera security on the island. A Memory of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed for this project.

A representative of the Minister of Justice said that once the Chinese delegation arrives in Curaçao, the Ministry of Justice will work together with them to make the plan more concrete and further develop all facets of this project. There will be both managers and engineers from the Chinese company Inspur Group Ltd to advice the government on the camera security system for the island.

Initially, the cameras will be installed on tourist spots, particularly in Punda and Otrobanda. If the system works, then it can be implemented in different places on the island. The aim is to start using these cameras on January 1, 2015, but a delay of 60 days is also possible.

Earl this year the Minister of Justice traveled to Jinan in China with his delegation. He visited here the Chinese company Inspur Group Ltd. They arrived at the time agreed to work on a plan and implement the concepts of Safe City Solution and Smart City Solution on the island.

The Ministry indicated that the camera security system will be installed to give a sense of security in the city, but also to keep an eye on traffic violations and criminal activities.
