Coast Guard: Drugs and weapons intercepted south of Klein Curaçao; three arrested
WILLEMSTAD - In the early morning of Friday, September 28, the Dash patrol aircraft of the Coast Guard intercepted a vessel type 'Yola' located within the territorial waters of Curaçao. The Dash then contacted the Rescue & Coordination Center (RCC), on which a Metal Shark shift was deployed CC to intercept the vessel.
The interception took place at 6.5 miles south of Klein Curaçao. On board were three (3) persons and a number of packages and other objects, among others a monkey.
The persons and the vessel were taken to the Coast Guard pier at Parera. After completing the necessary formalities, the found packages, the monkey and the suspects were transferred to the police station and handed over to the authorities.
There were around 148350 grams of cocaine, 6805 grams of marijuana and a large number of weapons. The case is under investigation.
