Curacao has 22 new militiamen
WILLEMSTAD - This morning at 08:30, 22 new militiamen of the Curaçao Militia were sworn in. The ceremony took place in the courtyard of naval barracks in Suffisant.
The men have completed the Basic Military Training, where they have had military formation during 9 months. They learned military skills and followed a Monitoring and Security module. Now, after the swearing-in ceremony, they are full members of the Curaçao Militia.
The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Curaçao, mrs. Lucille George-Wout and the Naval Commander in the Caribbean and various dignitaries and relatives of the militiamen. The Public Prosecution (OM) congratulates the Curaçao community with the 22 new militiamen. They will be deployed in actions such as "Ta Basta Awor" (It’s Enough) and give possible military assistance and other similar actions.
