Dutch Government officials against new flights to Dutch Caribbean
THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - Officials from the Dutch Ministries of Security and Justice, Finance and Infrastructure and Environment want the government puts a stop to the intention of Arkefly to fly from Eindhoven to Curaçao and Aruba. The airline is planning to start this new route on November 1 of this year.
This was reported by the Dutch news program Nieuwsuur, which received a secret official note on Friday. Officials from the three ministries noted in their memo that the cost to check flights on drug mules is too high. Moreover, it is too short a time to have all the necessary equipment, reception rooms and staff ready for the first flight.
