Hurricane Matthew looked more like a storm in a glass of water
WILLEMSTAD - Hurricane Matthew that would ravage Curaçao today, caused little inconvenience. It was blowing harder than normal, but no storm winds at all. Hurricane passed about 300 kilometers north of the island.
Yesterday the government of Curaçao announced that the parliamentary elections today will be moved to next Wednesday. The government decided in consultation with the meteorological service on the island to move the elections because of the expected storm.
It actually seems all like a storm in a glass of water. Normally, if the government gives such a warning, there'll be a hurricane, but it seems to remain calm. There is still a lot of rain coming, which can lead to flooding. This is what they call the tail of the storm.
