Members of the KOREL Committee were Curacao last month. For this reason it was possible to continue elaborating principally on the issues discussed during their visit to the island. During this informal meeting with the Committee, the measures taken by Cabinet Hodge to balance the multi annual budget in balance, were discussed. They also discussed how to create support in the community for these austerity measures.

Minister Martina explained the necessities of a policy which supports the austerity measures, the so called “flankerend beleid” (supporting policy), by introducing a trajectory of integral investment in sectors like the harbor, airport, tourism and financial. The members of the KOREL Committee have used to time to ask questions.
