Investigation into mismanagement at Taxand Curacao

LspigtWILLEMSTAD - The Joint Court of Justice of the Netherlands Antilles has launched an investigation into the affairs of the tax office Taxand Curaçao. This was reported by Advocatie.nl. According to Peter Muller his former business partner Judith Brewster would have committed fraud.

He also accuses Muller and former directors Manuel Candal and Roelof Vos of conducting mismanagement. Leo Spigt (Spigt Litigators) has been appointed to carry out the research and get more insight into the fraudulent situation around Taxand. They will investigate the situation within the organization from December 31, 2010.

In 2010 the office of Muller, Muller & Associates Financial Services, merged with Brewster’s company. The office was led by both under the new name Taxand. To Muller's surprise, however, Brewster used the funds of Taxland Curacao for personal purposes. In 2012 they decided both to distant themselves from their directorship. Muller is still waiting for its dividend.

Former directors Candal and Fox and the interim director indicated to the Joint Court of Justice that the administration was indeed not in order. The Bres has been relieved of his duties. "These facts make it plausible that Brewster, while she was director, has mingled her own interest and / or those of affiliates to her company with the interest of the business without authority,” the Court said. Therefore, there are founded reasons to doubt proper management of the company.
