Italian court forbids the police and the Ministry of the Interior to connect Francesco Corallo with the Mafia

francesco-coralloROME - The Roman Court of Appeals prohibits, in the ruling number 50250RB, the Minister of the Interior and the DIA (the Italian equivalent of the FBI) to connect Corallo with the Mafia.

The Court also orders the publication of its ruling in the main Italian newspaper La Repubblica and the removal of any reference the DIA police has in its reports regarding Corallo and the Mafia.

Corallo's lawyers declared that this statement, which de facto prohibits anyone to allude Corallo as "a person close to or part of the Mafia”, of utmost importance. Indeed, this opens the doors for lawsuits against a number of parties who have connected Corallo with the Mafia in the past.

Corallo has been connected with the former Prime Minister of Curacao, Gerrit Schotte.

The former government headed by Schotte was planning on appointing Corallo to an important function in the Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten. That was explained by Alex Rosario of Partido PAIS. He claims to have heard this from sources in the Dutch Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.

Rosaria said that according to information from the Netherlands, Corallo was also nominated as ambassador of Curaçao in Santo Domingo. Former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte denies Corallo's nomination. He called the story "another lie of Rosaria".
