Koeiman: “It’s logical that I will be the next Prime Minister”
WILLEMSTAD – The leader of the coalition party MAN, Hensley Koeiman was also present during the meeting where the four parties formed the new government. “We have finally reached an agreement. The ‘formateur’ will now presents his report to the Governor,” said Koeiman.
Koeiman explained that there is government based on 11 seats in parliament. These seats are from four different parties, MAN, PAR, PNP and PS. Koeiman also stated that it is logical that he as the leader of the biggest coalition party will be the next Prime Minister. But since his party adheres to the democratic process, his appointment as the new Prime Minister will first be discussed internally. “That is the right way to handle this. We will discuss it in secret and make a decision.”
The leader of the Pueblo Soberano (PS) Jaime Cordoba explained that the four parties have reached an agreement. “We did this in all calmness. When you are meeting in the parliament building, there are many eyes on you. That is why we met at Santa Barbara. Here we were able to talk to each other and form a government,” said Cordoba.
