Lucile George-Wout: Next Governor of Curacao

Governor's PalaceWILLEMSTAD – The parties forming the coalition agreed to present Mrs. Lucille George-Wout as the next Governor of Curacao. She will be presented by the Prime Minister of Curacao, Ivar Asjes to the King and the Government of the Netherlands. Asjes is currently in the Netherlands on an official visit and will make use of the opportunity to present Mrs. George-Wout as the next Government.

If the King and the Dutch Government accept this proposal, Mrs. George-Wout will

than replace Mrs. Frits Goedgedrag who is still officially the Governor but who stepped down last year due to health reasons.

Lucille George-Wout is a former Island Commissioner for the political party MAN. She's a co-founder of the political party PAR together with the late  Miguel Pourier. After the Party won the majority in the elections of 1994, she served as President of the Parliament of the Netherlands Antilles during the Pourier Cabinet. George-Wout also served as Minister of Labor Affairs in the second Government headed by the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles, Miguel Pourier.
