MFK has prepared plan A, B, C, and D to stop elections
WILLEMSTAD – The MFK party and its leader Gerrit Schotte believes that in the current political situation, it is better to come up with plan A, B, C, and D to stop the upcoming elections.
The party has the energy to prepare for a snap elections, but that is one of the plans, but, according to the party, the people of Curaçao can count that they will do whatever is possible to stop the elections. This is why the MFK has not executed all its plans because the snap elections were illegally called. This is according to a statement made by Schotte to the media. “This election was called based on a wrong decision made by Cabinet Koeiman.”
“An election was forced on us and obviously we have to present an alternative plan which entails our preparation just in case we do have to continue with the elections.” This is also the reason why the party leader did not organize a big manifestation to present its candidates’ list last Friday. He attended the ceremony with his immediate family and the party president.
According to Schotte, plan A has been in force since February 17 when the parliamentary motions were adopted. Plan B has been in motion when the new interim government was announced. Plan C started today with local and international efforts. Schotte believes that if international treaties are being set aside, there are no other local entities that can surpass them. Schotte did not want to comment on Plan D.
Schotte also indicated that up until last week the chances were 50/50 for the snap election. But each day that goes by he believes that he will have to disappoint those that are eagerly awaiting the elections. “It will not take place!”
