Minister: “Elections will not be postponed”
WILLEMSTAD – The upcoming elections this Friday will not be postponed. This became clear during a press conference at the Meteorological Services of Curaçao. The Prime Minister of Curaçao Dr. Bernhard Whiteman and the Minister of Traffic, Transportation, Spatial Planning Suzanne Camelia-Römer and the Meteorologist Albert Martis spoke during this conference.
Martis made it clear that it is not entirely clear which scenario will take place. He did indicate that whatever scenario there will be, the ABC- Islands are in the path of the storm.
Camelia-Römer indicated that currently there is a lot of attention paid to the road drainage systems and the sewers for the possible heavy rainfall. The Minister also said that on Thursday morning they will have an update about the elections, whether it will be postponed or not.
