Ministerial posts not yet distributed
WILLEMSTAD - The parties MAN, PAR, PNP, and PS have no agreement yet on how the ministries will soon be divided among them. In the coming days, they will make a decision during the talks that will take place under the direction of the person appointed by the Governor to form a government coalition.
Informateur Kenneth Gijsbertha already submitted his final report to Governor Lucille George-Wout. The four parties decided to form a coalition together. This means that the opposition parties will be Un Korsou Hustu of businessman Amparo dos Santos, MFK of former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte, Un Korsou Hustu of former PAR member Omayra Leeflang and Movementu Progresivo of former PAIS member Dr. Marilyn Moses.
Until now, several parties have expressed their wishes about the ministerial posts. More real content to their wishes has not been discussed yet. One thing is clear that MAN will appoint the Prime Minister and the Minister Plenipotentiary in The Hague. Also, the post of President of Parliament could go to one of the smaller parties, either PNP or Pueblo Soberano (PS).
There will be more clarity in the coming days on the distribution of the nine ministerial posts.
