New accommodation immigration at Hato Airport, more space for arriving passengers
WILLEMSTAD – Arriving passengers at the Hato Airport have recently more space at passport control booths. Problems arise at the arrival of various large aircrafts. This causes long lines of passengers in the immigration hall. During the remodeling of the airport, the Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) has addressed this issue.
The hall was restructured. A new floor has been laid and the counters removed. The number of counters has also been reduced from twelve to six. According to CAP this is not a problem at all because most of the time these counters are not all staffed.
Furthermore, Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) will install the so called e-gates where passengers can electronically have their passports checked. This project is scheduled for this year.
Considerable more space has been created for the waiting passengers. The remodeling of the immigration hall is part of the major renovation project of the airport.
