Our own Churandy Martina goes to finals in 200m
WILLEMSTAD - Churandy Martina has placed himself at the Olympics for the final. The 32-year-old Curaçao-born finished his semifinal surprised as second (20.10 seconds)
In 2008 and 2012 the smiling sprinter was also among the fastest eight men in the Olympic final of the 200 meters. Martina rushed behind Bolt in Beijing on behalf of Curaçao in second over the finish line, but he was disqualified because he had stepped on the line. In London in 2012, when Martina played for the Netherlands, he finished fifth.
He is considered the fastest sprinter in the Dutch Kingdom
