Parliamentary questions about Marvelyne Wiels in the Netherlands

Ronal van RaakTHE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - The rumble at the Curaçao House did not go unnoticed. In the Netherlands the MP for the Socialist Pary, Ronald van Raak asked three questions to Minister Ronald Plasterk of the Interior and Kingdom Relations yesterday. He wants to know more about alleged nepotism and resume fraud of the Minister Plenipotentiary, Marvelyne Wiels, sister of the late Helmin Wiels.

Mrs. Wiels has hired friends and family as employees at the Curacao House (the Curacao representation in the Netherlands) in The Hague without following required application procedures. Also she presented a resume which is not based on the truth, according to Van Raak. In her resume, Wiels indicates that she has worked for ABN AMRO for fifteen years.

The parliamentary questions

1) Is it true that the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao has hired family and friends without following customary and agreed recruitment procedures?

2) As part of the appointment of the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao have you performed a background check on the accuracy of her resume? If not, are you willing to do so now?

3) What are the consequences if a Minister Plenipotentiary has committed resume fraud?
