Police and CAP issued a control on illegal means of transportation at the airport
WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners, Police and PoliTur united in an effort against illegal means of transportation at Curaçao International Airport. Friday morning and afternoon non authorized drivers offering transportation services to and from the airport were checked and fines were handed out to drivers of various types of illegal transportation, whom for instance, did not have the proper papers or whom weren’t authorized to offer services on the airport route.
A traveler needs to be able to count on transportation to and from the airport that is safe, structured, uniform and according to the expectations of hospitality that are established in the tourism industry. Actions against illegal transportation should demotivate those offering their services without the correct authorization. Less illegal transportation will improve the atmosphere as well as the traffic flow, which will positively add to the airport experience of the traveler as well as those offering their service at the airport. The collaboration between the Police, PoliTur and Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) against illegal transportation will take place in the future with more frequency. CAP is in the process of implementing ground transportation regulations in order to create more clarity and uniformity with regard to the service offered at the airport by authorized providers and will introduce stickers for taxi’s and tour busses in order to have these be more recognizable for the traveler.
