Police: “Arrest related to stolen copper wires”

Scrap Yard1WILLEMSTAD – On Friday, August 22, 2014, around 16:25, in connection with an increase in stolen copper wires, which is causing power outages in various parts of the island, police officers started a search at a company in Zeelandia. Here, authorities found various goods, which were probably stolen.

Authorities have arrested the man L.M. age 57 and born in Curaçao. He is the owner of the company in Zeelandia. He is now suspected of acquiring stolen goods. The police have confiscated these goods for their investigation.

The suspect was brought before an examining judge, who ordered his detention pending more investigation.
