Possible Ebola patient denied entry to Curacao
WILLEMSTAD - A Dutch man who may be carrying the Ebola virus and has been living in the United States, is not allowed to travel to Curacao. This is what the Ministry of General Affairs announced today. This announcement came after a meeting between the Council of Ministers and epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth.
The Director of the Risk and Disaster Management, Lesley Fer, was also present at the meeting.
For the time being
The man with the Dutch nationality, is monitored by the US authorities for a possible Ebola infection. "The Council of Ministers, after listening to all of the medical, technical and legal arguments, and after careful internal deliberations, decided not to grant access to the person for the time being in the interest of public health,” said the ministry.
