Prime Minister’s ultimatum deadline passes and no response

Oil RefineryWILLEMSTAD – At 4 o’clock the Prime Minister was supposed to give an answer to the unions about their participation in the negotiating committee on the future of the oil refinery in Curacao. The Prime Minister has not responded yet and according to the leaders of the various unions, there will be a strike tomorrow starting at 8 in the morning. The unions indicated that they are still willing to talk with the Prime Minister.

The unions just want to be part of the negotiations for the future of the oil refinery after the contract with the Venezuelan Oil Company PDVSA expires in 2019.
