Public Prosecution confirms, former Minister is suspect

Public ProsecutionWILLEMSTAD – Former Minister Carlos Monk is a suspect in the cases Magnus or Maximus, the investigation into the murder of politician Helmin Wiels. This was confirmed by the Public Prosecutor (OM). Monk said yesterday that he was questioned by the Criminal Investigation Cooperation Team (RST).

According to Monk all this must be seen as a political persecution. The RST informed the ex-minister last Friday that he is considered a suspect in the case.

Intellectual perpetrators

If Monk is one of the intellectual perpetrators, could not be confirmed by the OM spokesman, Guillano Schoop. “Given the importance of Monk in this case, the Prosecution did not consider it necessary to keep the suspect in custody,” Schoop said.
