Public Prosecutor ready to visit you at home if…
WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution (OM) is ready to visit people at their houses if they have more than one unpaid fine. At present there are nearly 8,000 people with outstanding fines.
One notorious defaulter has a total number of fines open to the value of 7,500 guilders (4,237 dollars). This person will be the first to receive a visit from the OM.
Since last week, the OM has a completely new digital system for the processing of these fines. Through this system they can check anywhere, whether a person has an outstanding fine or not. Even during traffic checkpoint.
If you are stopped and you don’t have the means to pay your fine at that moment you can make a payment arrangement with the OM.
