Schotte denies having lied to get good seat at Chavez’ funeral

Schotte with Haitian delegationWILLEMSTAD – After the funeral of President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, questions arose of the treatment Schotte received during his visit in Venezuela. Schotte was part of the Haitian delegation during the farewell of the Venezuelan President.

Schotte stated that no one has to lie nowadays about their position to the world, everyone knows who is who. “Gerrit Schotte is the former Prime Minister of Curacao and now elected member of Parliament of Curacao. Schotte traveled to Venezuela and the Venezuelan Chancellery was notified that the former Prime Minister of Curacao, who now is a member of Parliament of his country will pay his respect to President Hugo Chavez, that’s all,” were Schotte’s words.

“Everything else is just invented by frustrated  journalists and those who don’t contribute to anything in this country. Hatred is one of the sentiments of the human being which is never right,” according to Schotte.

Schotte did not explain however how come he was part of the Haitian delegation and that at the official petition from Haiti to Venezuela it was stated that Schotte was Prime Minister of Curacao (not ex Prime Minister).
