Sentencing in gold heist case on Friday June 28

Court of JusticeWILLEMSTAD – The gold heist case which has captured the region’s media attention will be treated by the court of Justice this Friday June 28, 2013 at 9:30 am. District Attorney, Mr. Van Waveren will present his demands and Judge Wes Lips presides.

The defendants are:

  1. Jose Luis Flores Segovia, Venezuela, 7/2/69
  2. Luis Alfredo Flores Segovia, Venezuela, 5.12.84
  3. Mutzy del Carmen Parra Borges Venezuela 10/6/67
  4. Giovanni Thadeus Regales, Curacao 14//69
  5. Arthur Jozef Davelaar, Bonaire 16/3/66
  6. Roger Roland Penso, Curacao 10/7/66
  7. Guiseppe Angelo Rossano Pizziolo, Curacao 24/4/61
  • 70 gold bars were stolen from the vessel “Summer Bliss” using violence;
  • The gold bars have a calculated value òf 11.5 million dollars;
  • During the house search on December 27, 2012, various important articles related to the case were confiscated;
  • On January 22, 2013, 7 suspects were arrested in this case. A house at Cas Coraweg and another in Ceresstraat were raided. Various important articles related to the case were confiscated;
  • Puerto Rican authorities (U.S.) confiscated in the month of December 2012, a total of 11 gold bars. Authorities are still investigating if these gold bars are related to the gold heist of November 30, 2012 in Curacao. The Office of Public Prosecution is in contact with the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) regarding this case;
  • The Summer Bliss crew were free to go. They were not part of the investigation.
