Situation at refinery putting propane production and delivery at risk

Oil RefineryWILLEMSTAD – The situation which presented itself at the oil refinery last Sunday, which was related to CRU (formerly known as BOO), is putting the production and delivery of propane gas for domestic use at risk. Even though the spokesman of the refinery declared that the delivery of oil derived products are not at risk, Curoil is confirming that this is the case.

“Propane delivery is delicate since Curgas is not receiving enough from the refinery,” according to the Curgas spokesman. The spokesman explained that after last weekend, the refinery encountered major technical problems which made it impossible for them to deliver propane gas to Curgas which in turn makes the delivery of this product to both domestic and commercial clients very delicate.

“A propane delivery stop has a direct impact on Curgas’ services to the community. This issue with the refinery makes the filling of the propane cylinders impossible. Curgas depends for 100% of the refinery for its production and delivery of propane gas. Curgas’ goal is to deliver the cylinders in less than 5 days after the request, but this issue makes it almost impossible to do. Curgas informs that when the production of propane gas normalizes at the refinery, it will do its utmost to continue supplying this necessary product to its customers,” according to the spokesman.
