Tambú on intangible heritage list
WILLEMSTAD - The origins of Caribbean traditions and tambú and kaha di orgel were officially placed on the National Inventory Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Netherlands.
The SPLIKA Foundation took the initiative to place these traditions, thus making it visible and to be shared. Yesterday the representatives SPLIKA Foundation and Director of the Research Centre intangible heritage Netherlands signed the certificate of the inventory. Both traditions have their roots in Curaçao, Bonaire and Aruba.
In these lectures, it is about the traditions that are practised in, for example, the Netherlands. Contemporary versions of tambú and kaha di orgel are adapted to the Dutch situation and therefore differ slightly from the traditions of the islands.
