U.S. Under Secretary of State Patrick F. Kennedy visits Prime Minister
WILLEMSTAD – on Thursday, October 6, the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Dr. Bernhard Whiteman received the visit from the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Management, the Honorable Patrick F. Kennedy.
As Under-Secretary of State for Management, Mr. Kennedy oversees all U.S. Missions in the world. He is also responsible for overseeing implementation of the Secretary’s Greening Diplomacy Initiative to improve the sustainability of the U.S. State Department’s facilities and operations.
Mr. Kennedy was accompanied by the U.S. Consul General in Curaçao, Mrs. Margareth Hawthorn and Mrs. Michelle LaBonte, Director of the Eastern Hemisphere.
The delegation also paid a visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Mrs. Lucille George-Wout.
Prime Minister Whiteman was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Office of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Stella van Rijn and also Mrs. Neelam Melwani, an officer at the Office of Foreign Affairs.
The Prime Minister and the Under Secretary spoke about different topics of cooperation between the two countries and also other topics of mutual interests.
