Update airport shooting – Again life sentence for “Mob” and “Venenu”, 20 years for Bart
WILLEMSTAD - The Court of Justice has sentenced the men Adrian Martia alias Venenu and Judrin Martis alias Mob to life imprisonment for murder by complicity, manslaughter, destruction and aggravated assault against two police officers on July 15, 2014 at Hato Airport, the so called airport shooting case.
On that day, two men were killed and seven bystanders were wounded by bullets from machine guns. The Court of first instance already sentenced them to life in prison. The Court of Appeal took into account the nature and seriousness of the evidences in determining the sentence.
In view of this, the court considered the life sentence appropriate and necessary.
"The conclusion is that the society is to be permanently protected against the suspects."
The man Raily Bart was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the airport shooting on July 15, 2014. According to the evidences, he was the driver.
The verdict is equal to the sentencing by the judge in the court of first instance.
