UPDATE: Plane crash at sea confirmed in Aruba
WILLEMSTAD, ORANJESTAD - It is officially confirmed that there is indeed a plane which crashed near Aruba. It is an illegal flight from Venezuela who had no permission to be in the airspace of Aruba. The Coast Guard and police in Aruba have started a search and have since found debris and bales of drugs in the ocean.
Wings Global Media was filming in the area for a TV commercial when they saw the plane coming down. They recorded the whole incident. A cruise ship saw the plane plunge into the sea and has passed the coordinates to the authorities.
Curaçao has sent helicopters to help search for the wreckage and possible survivors.
