Update: Second press release from the Office of the Governor
WILLEMSTAD - Following a request from the Governor to the Prime Minister to be kept informed of the outcome of consultations between coalition parties, the Prime Minister made known to her this afternoon that it was not possible to get a majority in parliament.
In connection with this, the Prime Minister offered his resignation and that of the ministers of his cabinet.
The Governor has taken the resignation request under consideration and invited the ministers to continue to take charge of what should be deemed necessary in the interest of Curaçao and to continue working with her until the resignation is decided.
The Governor has also decided to hold consultations to hear the views of parties on the political situation. These consultations will take place in the coming days.
