Yeal Plet did not get money directly from Ricardo
WILLEMSTAD – Gilmar Ricardo, whose house was raided yesterday by the authorities, never offered money to the Member of Parliament for MAN Yael Plet. This is according to the MP in a letter he wrote to clarify that point. This letter was spread in the media earlier today.
Ricardo’s house in Mahaai was raided yesterday. According to the Public Prosecution, he is one of the suspects in the case named Wilhelmina. This case is the investigation into the bribery of Members of Parliament. The two main suspects are former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte and former Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning Charles Cooper.
The Public Prosecution never said that Ricardo was a suspect. They are investigating his role in this case. The raids took place after Plet filed a complaint and after several witnesses were heard.
