2015 will be the year of tax cuts

GovernorWILLEMSTAD - The year 2015 is the year of the tax cut. This was indicated by the Governor of Curaçao, HE Lucille Governor George-Wout on behalf of the government headed by Prime Minister Ivar Asjes, during the opening of the new Parliamentary Year. Tax relief is seen by the government as an important tool to boost the local economy.

George-Wout stressed that in the eyes of the government, private projects must be the engine of economic growth on the island.

“In this context, next year will be the year of tax, as was promised by the government earlier during the debate of the 2013 budget in parliament. This is proof that the fiscal policy of the past two years has worked. The reduction will be accompanied by changes to our tax system, with the aim of reducing administrative costs and achieve relief for the people,” the Governor said during her speech in Parliament.
