Alex Rosaria resigns as PAIS leader after election results
WILLEMSTAD - Alex Rosaria resigns as leader of the political party PAIS. The former ruling party did not win enough votes to obtain a seat in parliament.
Former President of Parliament and also member of the party indicated that they will now enter a period of reflection. They will have to answer several crucial answers. Why did the party lose and how will they continue.
Prominent PAIS member, Alison Manuel said that they want to know why the people did not vote for PAIS. The light blue party received a total of 3651 votes, which was not enough for one seat in parliament. The party is going to compare their political campaign with other parties to come up with answers. This is important because out of these answers they will decide whether or not to continue as a political group and to participate in the elections in four years.
Alex Rosaria is the founder of the party, but after this crushing defeat he believes he can no longer lead. From 2005 to 2009 he was Minister of Economy and Labor in the former Netherlands Antilles for the PNP party. In 2010, together with Marcolino Franco, he founded the PAIS party.
