WILLEMSTAD – The Government of Curaçao is paying close attention to the problems at the Curaçao Technology Exchange (CTEX). According to the Prime Minister, Ivar Asjes, the Minister of Traffic and Transportation, who is responsible for telecommunication, is paying close attention to this case since it looks like something very serious.
The Prime Minister indicated that the government has deliberated this week in the Council of Ministers on the whole issue with CTEX and Minister Balborda indicated that he is investigating the case and that soon there will be shareholders meeting requested by UTS.
Based on this shareholders meeting, UTS will inform the minister who in turn will inform his colleagues in the Council of Ministers.
“In this way we will continue to deliberate and hopefully make a decision as soon as possible. We have to take steps because this is a serious issue,” the Prime Minister said during the weekly press conference.
