Betrian welcomes departure Schotte

WILLEMSTAD - The interim Prime Minister of Curaçao says his predecessor Gerrit Schotte " made the right decision" by leaving the government building in Willemstad. According to Stanley Betrian it is also better for Schotte’s election, "because that's harder to do when you are trapped."

Ex-Premier Schotte entered Fort Amsterdam on Saturday. He refused to leave the building until the elections of October 19, because he did not agree with the appointment of Betrian. After Schotte left the building, he spoke to his followers at the party office. He said he was preparing for the elections.

The interim government has announced that Fort Amsterdam will be closed till further notice. The police will first examine whether it is safe to enter the premises. It will be seen that there are no official documents destroyed or stolen.
