Boarding schools fall short of funds

PaulettaWILLEMSTAD - Boarding schools need more funds to survive, according to Anne Maria Pauletta, faction chairman of the PAR in Parliament. The MP made this statement after she visited the five boarding schools in Curaçao last week with her faction members.

Where 120 guilders per child is needed, only 70 guilders is available. But Pauletta will not ask the Minister of Social Development Hensley Koeiman to raise the amount per child, probably that money is not there.

However, the Member of Parliament thinks that the foundations that run boarding schools should work more together and mergers would be desirable in the future.
