Bond issue for new hospital brings 245 million guilders
WILLEMSTAD - The bond issue for the benefit of the country Curaçao for the construction of the new hospital has fully been deposited and has yielded a total of 245.5 million guilders.
For this amount, the Dutch State (Dutch Treasury Agency of the Ministry of Finance) has enrolled for the full 100 percent. The issue proceeds will be used for the construction of the new hospital in Otrobanda and the financing of some investments the government has already funded.
The latter involves a sum of 80 million guilders. This is the second issue in favor of the new hospital. Last May 250 million dollars was collected for this project.
Approximately 435 million guilders has been budgeted for the construction and equipment of the hospital. The loan has a term of thirty years and an effective interest rate of 1.6 percent. The coupons will expire every six months.
