Budget will be sent to Parliament

WILLEMSTAD – Right at the end there is still a new and customized budget for 2013 on the way to the Parliament. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Dr. Jose Jardim after the weekly meeting of the Cabinet.

Forwarding the budget to Parliament is a bit too late for the deadline of December 15 which was set by the Committee for Financial Supervision. The first version of the budget was adopted by the Cabinet Schotte and submitted in September but was rejected because it was contrary to the instructions given by the Kingdom Council of Ministers. The tax incomes were estimated too high and the expenditures too low.  Jardim hopes that the revised budget will soon be treated in Parliament.
