Central Bank requests to review PwC report

Central Bank CuracaoWILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten requested both Ministers of Finance (Curaçao and Sint Maarten) to give them the opportunity to ascertain whether the final versions of the full PricewaterhouseCooper report and the summary accurately reflect the views of the bank.

As is known, on October 17 of this year, the Ministers of Finance indicated to the President of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten that they will inform both parliaments, in writing, about the findings of the research into the functioning of the bank.

Although there was extensive hearing during the examination and rebuttal was applied, it was still decided to make the report available in two weeks. This is to ensure that the confidentiality is maintained before all parties have the opportunity to review this report.

The Bank has now asked the Ministers to give them the opportunity to ascertain whether the final versions of the full report and the summary of the views of the Bank are accurate.

This request was honored by the Ministers and the bank’s request will be granted on a short term. After that the Ministers will present the summary of the report to both parliaments. In consultation with the President of Parliament, the Ministers will present a modus operandi so that the MPs can take note of the content of the full report in a confidential manner.
