Central Bank willing to meet with parliament
WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Finance, Dr. Jose Jardim notified the President of Parliament that the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) are willing to meet with the parliament in a Central Committee meeting.
Various MPs have requested this meeting with the highest financial institution of the country together with group that have investigated the operations of the bank, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
President of Parliament, Mike Franco confirmed that he has received Jardim’s letter and that he has requested the clerk to canalize all efforts for parliament to meet with these two institutions.
The President of Parliament was also notified that the PWC cannot meet with parliament, because they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, before they were able to do the work at the Central Bank. This agreement will not permit them to discuss their investigation in parliament.
