Civil servant salaries will be adjusted

WILLEMSTAD — Following questions from parliamentarian Amérigo Thodé (MFK), Premier Daniel Hodge (PS) confirmed yesterday that the promised salary adjustments of the civil servants will be kept. The adjustments regard payments related to the wage scale, the indexation and the holiday allowance for civil servants. Premier Hodge mentioned this yesterday at the last moment of the debate. His turn to answer was actually over but after an observant assistant of the premier quickly passed him a note he returned to the speaker’s chair.

The total amount still owed to the civil servants is 32.3 million guilders. 6.1 Million is needed to rectify the indexation. The adjustments to the wage scale amounts to a mere 7 million and 19.2 million is needed for the holiday allowance. The premier subsequently handed the microphone to the next minister, who was to answer the many questions from the parliamentarians.
