Civil servants’ union celebrates 80th anniversary
WILLEMSTAD – The union representing the civil servants, the ABVO (General Association of Government Employees) celebrated yesterday their 80th anniversary in the auditorium of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Former Minister of Finance of the Netherlands Antilles, Ersilia ‘Zus” de Lannooy gave a speech about the importance of the trade union movement for Curaçao. In her speech she spoke about the national hero Frumencio da Costa Gomez, who was de facto the first prime minister of the Netherlands Antilles.
