Commissioners public transportation company must repay compensation
WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Communications and Transport, Suzy Camelia-Romer has demanded that the members of the Supervisory Board (SB) of the ABC Bus Company, who enjoyed an additional compensation of 3,000 guilders a month to repay this.
This was confirmed by the unions representing the public transportation company UGTK / Cadmu. They indicated that they are very satisfied with the decision of the minister. This decision has averted a possible strike by the bus drivers.
In accordance with the decision of the minister, this means that the Commissioners Edmiro Anita and Edward Melfor must repay 9,000 and 3,000 guilders respectively. Only commissioner Kenneth Bremer did not receive compensation.
According to the minister, the Supervisory Board was not authorized to give themselves this compensation. This is a task of the shareholder (government). Also, the minister promised to finalize the recruitment and selection of a new director as soon as possible.
